James N. Carlo is a senior partner in the Buffalo, New York law firm of Magavern Magavern Grimm LLP. He concentrates in real estate and title law, residential and commercial, and conducts an extensive general practice, including estate planning and administration.

Mr. Carlo is a designated examining counsel for Chicago Title Insurance Company, First American Title Insurance Company of New York, Monroe Title Insurance Corporation, Stewart Title Insurance Corporation, Ticor Title Guarantee Company and other major title insurers.

Mr. Carlo is a member of the New York State and Erie County Bar Associations and of the New York State Land Title Association. He has been twice elected to the 3,000 member Erie County Bar Association’s Nominating Committee. Mr. Carlo is a Past Director of the Erie County Bar Association and a Past Director, Treasurer and President of the Erie County Bar Foundation. He is admitted to practice in all Courts of the State of New York. Mr. Carlo is active in many community organizations and is a Captain, U.S. Naval Reserve, and Retired. He is a graduate of State University of New York Maritime College at Fort Schuyler and the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law.
